PROJECT DESCRIPTION. Redevelopment project involving the replacement of existing buildings with a new residential complex comprising three buildings of 3, 5 and 8 above-ground floors, with a shared underground level. The new complex replaces old post-war buildings that had become outdated and structurally deteriorated.

THE PROBLEM. The need to integrate the new architecture into a high-density urban context, with several existing buildings directly adjacent to the property boundaries. The presence of the underground level required the construction of vertical excavation faces with significant heights, reaching up to 4.5 metres.

THE SOLUTION. Construction of a Berlin-type pile retaining wall along the entire property boundary, in order to retain the surrounding soil, ensure the safety of adjacent structures and allow the excavation works to be carried out safely.
