PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The tender issued by CON.AMI (Imola) involved the restoration of a building, protected by the Heritage Authority, within the Osservanza Park in Imola, to serve as the headquarters of the International Music Academy "Incontri col Maestro". The music school was to house classrooms, an auditorium, and a dormitory area for out-of-town students within the same building.
THE PROBLEM. The brick building was in a dilapidated state internally, with an architectural layout unsuitable for the intended purpose.
THE SOLUTION. The building was completely renovated internally while preserving the external envelope. The new wide-span steel floors allowed for the resolution of spatial distribution issues, adapting the spaces to meet various needs. Particular attention was given to addressing acoustic issues, ensuring proper isolation between internal and external areas, internal spaces, and managing reverberation.
